Jazz musician Chuck Loeb dead at 61



NEW YORK (dpa) - Jazz guitarist Chuck Loeb, famous for his work with Stan Getz and Steps Ahead, has died aged 61, his family said Tuesday.
"We regret to inform you that our beloved husband and father, Chuck, passed away peacefully last night, July 31st at 9pm," his wife Carmen Cuesta and the couple's two daughters wrote on Facebook.



Loeb was born in 1955 near New York and was playing in local bands by the age of 13.
He had been fighting cancer for several years, according to Jazz Times.
His funeral will be held in Dobbs Ferry, New York on Friday.
