Nadal counting on Serena return after giving birth

New York - Rafael Nadal has full confidence that Serena Williams can be true to her vow to return to tennis in January, just five months after the birth of her daughter.

The Spaniard told People magazine in the US Open run-up that Williams also had a good shot at returning to the number one ranking, which she held through her last event, the Australian Open last January, which she won.
"I think she can. If she keeps the motivation she’s had all these years, Serena has more than demonstrated that she’s capable of anything," Nadal said.
"Someone like that always has the possibility of getting back to the top. She’s shown that tennis is a huge part of her life and it’d be an incredible example if she can do it.”
Nadal was among the first to congratulate Williams after the September 1 birth: "Congrats Serena!!! So much joy for you!!!
Nadal himself has had something to celebrate as he returns to the top ATP ranking after a multi-year absence. “It’s a nice feeling. Getting back to number one after so many years and everything that’s happened means a lot,” he said.
"I’m happy about it, the year has been really positive and I hope to finish it the best way possible."
