No mention of resignation as Mugabe ends televised address

Harare - Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe has ended a national televised address without indicating whether he will resign,

instead saying he will preside over an upcoming conference of the ruling Zanu-PF party.
The military takeover "did not amount to a threat to our well-cherished constitutional order, nor was it a challenge to my authority as head of state and government, not even as commander in chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces," he said.
