Bosnian to star in Angelina Jolie's directorial debut

SARAJEVO- Bosnian actress Zana Marjanovic has landed the lead in US screen siren Angelina Jolie's directorial debut, a movie about the 1992-95 war in Bosnia, the 27-year-old told BHR1 Bosnian radio Thursday.
"It will be an epic drama against the backdrop of the 1992-95 Bosnian war. It will be a story that will not push any political opinion but foremost a love story that plays out during the war," Marjanovic told the radio.

The movie is reportedly due to by shot largely in Budapest, Hungary with some scenes due to be filmed in Sarajevo in November this year, Bosnian radio reported.
Bosnian press agency Fena reported that Marjanovic was due go to Budapest later Thursday to start filming. No official date for the start of filming has been reported.
Jolie, who is currently Hollywood's highest paid actress, will write, direct and produce the movie, according to Hollywood trade daily Variety. It reported that the film will tell the story of a Serbian man and Bosnian woman who fall in love in the middle of the war, but are driven to take different paths.
In Bosnia, Marjanovic is known for her starring roles in two films by local directors: the 2003 Srdjan Vuletic film "Summer in the Golden Valley" and in 2008's "Snow" by Aida Begic.
