TOKYO (dpa)- Opera singer Placido Domingo won’t perform at a pre-Olympics cultural event in Tokyo following allegations of sexual harassment, organizers said on Friday.
The Spanish opera star will no longer participate alongside Japanese Kabuki performer Ebizo Ichikawa in a stage show in April. The Olympics begin in July.

Domingo made the decision on his own "after thoughtful consideration," he said in a statement issued through the Tokyo Olympics organizing committee.
Media reports have said that several women have alleged they were sexually harassed by Domingo in incidents decades ago.
He has rejected their accounts as "deeply troubling" and "inaccurate."
In early October, Domingo resigned as general director of the Los Angeles Opera because of the allegations.
In the US, the San Francisco Opera and the Philadelphia Orchestra cancelled concerts planned for Domingo, while at the Salzburg Festival in Austria in August, he received a standing ovation in his first performance since the allegations were made.
