England to name World Cup squad, Uruguay go for tried and tested

Berlin - England will become the latest nation to name their World Cup squad on Wednesday with a host of younger names expected to be called up, in contrast to Uruguay's old guard.

Uruguay coach Oscar Tabárez decided against any experiments in his 26-man squad with Barcelona forward Luis Suarez and Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin among the list of familiar names.
He must trim his squad down to 23 before June 4, with the month-long World Cup in Russia beginning on June 14.
Uruguay, world champions in the inaugural tournament in 1930 and in 1950, also finished fourth in 2010 and are in Group A in Russia along with the hosts, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
England coach Gareth Southgate does not want to prolong the agony for players and will name his final 23-man squad later, pending injuries in the build-up to the world's biggest sporting showpiece.
He looks set to go with youth after media reports said experienced goalkeeper Joe Hart and Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere would not be in the party.
The 1966 winners are in Group G with Belgium, Tunisia and Panama.
Many nations have already announced their preliminary World Cup squads, with Germany and Sweden revealing their lists on Tuesday after Brazil and Argentina a day before.
France coach Didier Deschamps will nominate his 23 on Thursday with Spain waiting until Monday.
