Istanbul (dpa) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled to visit Russia on Thursday, even as fighting escalates in the north-western Syrian province of Idlib.
It will be a one-day visit, the Turkish presidency said.
Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin sought to calm tensions last week after 34 Turkish soldiers were killed in an airstrike in Idlib. Ankara has since launched an offensive, raising tensions further with Russia's ally, Syria.
