Israeli ex-soldier causes stir with Facebook pictures

JERUSALEM- Pictures of an Israeli woman soldier posing in front of blindfolded and cuffed Palestinian prisoners that have been posted on Facebook triggered a stir in Israel on Monday.
Israeli public television broadcast the pictures and the army issued a statement denouncing the "shameless behaviour" of the woman, Eden Abargil, who it said completed her military service a year ago.
Abargil posted pictures on her Facebook site showing her smiling and posing in front of three Palestinian prisoners blindfolded and cuffed, with a caption that said: "The army, the best time of my life."
"This reflects an attitude which has become the norm and consists in treating Palestinians like objects, not like human beings," the head of the Israeli Committee Against Torture, Yishai Menuchim, said in a statement.
