Karima:Moroccan singing is the best
When you listen to Karima Skalli you feel as though you are listening to the legend of Arabic singing ASmahan.
Karima's voice, with all it is velvety smoothness, takes her audience to a magical world .
In 1999 Karima sang one of Asmhan's songs in Cairo theatre; since then, people everywhere link her with Asmhan. She with all modesty explained lately to the Arab press that she is not imitating the Arabic legend but practicing to follow the tradition of a great school of Arabic singing.
The beginning was with the poems of Moroccan poet Abdarafee Aljawaheri and the musician Said Al sharaibi. After that Karima skalli sang poems of Adam Fathi with Lotfi boushnak in the Arab world institute.
This Moroccan diva sang as well in Fes festivals for Sufi music and won a prize in Kmessa (2006).
Since then the singer became regular participant in a big international festivals and sang with the great American singer Wilhelmina Fernandez .
Among these festivals was the Cairo festival for Arabic music in the opera house of Cairo.
The sensual voice of Karima Skalli is a great gift: it is not only beautiful, emotional and smooth but resonates deeply with the memory of Arabic traditional songs of Andalusia.
Karima grew among big names in AndalucĂan music, so no wonder she kept the tradition and the memory of than great heritage.
This artistic evening is a beautiful homage for a very high profile artist. who believes thather country singers are the best
