Natalie Cole undergoes kidney transplant

LOS ANGELES - Soul singer Natalie Cole was recovering in a Los Angeles hospital Wednesday after undergoing a kidney transplant, her publicists said in a statement.
Cole, 59, was "resting comfortably", the statement from Rogers & Cowan said, confirming that the star had postponed an upcoming summer tour.
"Further information about the re-scheduled dates will be available shortly."
Cole was diagnosed in February 2008 with hepatitis C -- a condition she attributed to her past battles with drug addiction -- and has been undergoing kidney dialysis three times a week since September.
Cole, the daughter of legendary crooner Nat King Cole, told CNN earlier this year she was receiving aggressive chemotherapy to battle the hepatitis.
