On August 22, 2004, two armed masked men burst into the Munch museum in Oslo in broad daylight and stole the "Scream" and also the "Madonna" paintings before making off in a getaway car driven by a third man.
The two works were recovered on August 31, 2006, but no details were given on where and how they were found.
Hoen admitted he provided the car to the men but claimed he did not know how the vehicle would be used.
Last year, Stian Skjold, one of the two thieves, was sentenced by the Supreme Court to six years in jail while Petter Tharaldsen, the getaway driver, was sentenced to 10 years and six months.
The second suspected thief died of a heroin overdose in November 2006.
