WASHINGTON- US President Barack Obama left the White House Thursday on the way to Denmark to deliver a politically risky final pitch for his hometown Chicago's 2016 Olympic bid.
Obama was due to arrive in Copenhagen early on Friday to make the closing argument for the city's bid, before an International Olympic Committee final vote on the destiny of the 2016 Summer Games.

The president, who gave a thumbs-up before he boarded his Marine One helicopter at the presidential mansion, is due to link up with his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama, who is already in the Danish capital.
Chicago is competing against Madrid, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo for the right to host the global sporting extravaganza.
