JERUSALEM - Ten activists were arrested on Friday during a protest against the eviction of Palestinians in annexed Arab east Jerusalem, an AFP photographer reported.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld confirmed that several people were arrested in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood for staging an unauthorised demonstration.

Israel captured east Jerusalem from Jordan in the 1967 Six Day War and later annexed it in a move not recognised by the international community.
Israel sees all of Jerusalem as its "eternal and indivisible" capital. The Palestinian want to make the city's eastern sector the capital of their promised state.
Israel did not include east Jerusalem in its 10-month moratorium on new permits for home construction in settlements, because it does not consider its Jewish neighbourhoods to be settlements.
