Spain's House of Alba shows private art collection

SEVILLE - Some 40 works by masters such as Goya, Renoir and Rubens go on display Friday in the Spanish city of Seville, taken from the private collection of one of the country's oldest aristocratic families.
The Duchess of Alba, whose family dates back to the 15th century, is loaning the paintings to Seville's Museum of Fine Arts.
Among them are the two favorites of the Duchess of Alba: "Portrait of the Grand Duke of Alba" by 16th century Italian Renaissance painter Titian and "The Duchess of Alba in White", by Francisco de Goya, painted in 1795.
Other works are by Marc Chagall, Julio Romero de Torres and Jusepe de Ribera, and the exhibition also includes three sculptures by Mariano Benlliure.
It was the first time that works from the House of Alba collection have been on show since 1987, when they were exhibited in Madrid and Barcelona.
The exhibition lasts until January 10.
