DAMASCUS- Syrian film director Omar Amiralay, who made documentaries critical of the ruling Baath party, died on Saturday in Damascus of a heart attack at the age of 67, his friends and family said.
They said Amiralay, a prominent civil society activist who hailed the uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt, died at his home.
