WASHINGTON (dpa)- A new order by US President Donald Trump will impose at least partial entry bans on seven countries, based on security risks where governments have failed to meet US demands for information sharing.
Chad, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Syria, Venezuela and Yemen were listed in the order, effective October 18.

Somalia was not listed, but similar restrictions were placed on immigrant visas.
The affected countries were found to have high-risk environments, along with "inadequate" cooperation with US demands for reliable identification of individuals and information sharing about people who could be criminal or security risks, senior administration officials said.
The order suspends entry for both immigrant and all non-immigrant visas for Chad, Libya, Syria, North Korea and Yemen. The order suspends all visas for Iran, except valid student and exchange visitor visas with enhanced screening.
The order suspends entry for certain Venezuelan government officials and their immediate family members.
