EuroMillions produces biggest ever British lottery win

LONDON - A ticketholder in Britain has won 56 million pounds (64.6 million euros, 87.9 million dollars) on the EuroMillions lottery, easily becoming Britain's biggest ever lottery win.
The winning ticket shared the overall jackpot of 129,618,405 euros with one other ticket bought in Spain.
It has yet to be confirmed whether the winning ticket belongs to an individual or a syndicate.
A spokesman for Britain's National Lottery said the champagne was on ice and waiting for the lucky winners to come forward.

"This is fantastic news -- we're absolutely delighted to have such a massive UK win.
"Subject to validation the prize could be paid out when the banks are open on Monday," the spokesman said.
The lucky numbers were 1, 5, 18, 38, 45 and the Lucky Star numbers were 4 and 6.
It is the fourth time in three months that a British ticketholder has won more than 25 million pounds in the EuroMillions draw.
In November, unemployed mechanic Les Scadding and his wife Samantha Peachey-Scadding, from south Wales, won 45.5 million pounds on EuroMillions.
In the same draw, a further 45.5 million pounds were scooped by a syndicate of IT workers at Hewlett Packard in Liverpool. The media dubbed them the "Magnificent Seven".
