Arabic language radio station to launch in Berlin

BERLIN (dpa)- Arabic speakers living and working in the German capital will soon have a radio station in their native language.
The majority of the Radio Arabica's programmes will be broadcast in Arabic, with segments to cover culture, news, comedy, sport and life in the German capital, the MABB media council for the Berlin and Brandenburg regions said on Thursday.

The station will also air Arabic folk music, pop and modern music.
"Alongside a French, Russian, Turkish, British and American radio show, there will now be an offering for the Arabic population," said MABB council chair Hansjuergen Rosenbauer.
The launch date of the new channel was not included in the MABB announcement.
