Blair's stepmother-in-law running for British parliament

LONDON- Former British prime minister Tony Blair's stepmother-in-law will stand for parliament, the governing Labour Party confirmed Friday.
Steph Booth, the fourth wife of actor Tony Booth, was selected late Thursday as a candidate for the centre-left party Blair led. Tony Booth is the father of Blair's lawyer wife Cherie.

Booth was selected as Labour's candidate for the Calder Valley seat in northern England.
"Calder Valley faces big challenges during the current economic difficulties. I will be working hard for everyone who lives here to make sure our communities get all the help they need," she said.
Blair led Labour from 1994 to 2007 -- from 1997 as prime minister -- before stepping down.
