A nurse called husband Jack Tweed to her home last night after the former Big Brother contestant was panicking and in pain.
"She was in a bad way last night, she was panicking ... He went over and calmed her down and she went to sleep. She settled down and had a comfortable night," he said.
And he said: "She has deteriorated, she is very weak. The answer is, who knows? We are on the edge of a precipice."
Goody, 27, sparked uproar when she taunted Shetty on British TV's "Celebrity Big Brother" in 2007, calling her "Shilpa Poppadom".
The incident generated 45,000 complaints to the British TV regulator and almost caused a diplomatic incident, but Goody and Shetty later struck up a friendship.
When Goody appeared on an Indian version of "Big Brother" last year, she was forced to leave the show after test results showed she had cervical cancer.
She is now seriously ill but allowed magazines to cover her marriage to her boyfriend in return for money she says will secure the future of her two sons.
