Brigitte Macron to appear in episode of French TV comedy



PARIS (dpa)- Brigitte Macron, the wife of French President Emmanuel Macron, is set to make a guest appearance in an upcoming episode of a the television comedy "Vestiaires" (Changing Rooms).
The 65-year-old will play herself in Saturday's episode of the show, broadcaster France 2 announced in a short video clip Thursday.



The show's two-and-a-half-minute episodes focus on disabled athletes in a swimming club.
"We knew that she is a big fan of the series," the show's creator and actor Adda Abdelli said. "So we said to ourselves, because she likes it, we will ask her to perform with us."
In the video, Macron appeared wearing the same light-blue outfit she wore to her husband's inauguration in May last year and admitted to having stage fright.
The French first lady worked as a teacher at a high school in Amiens where she also directed a theatre group. She met Emmanuel Macron at the school while he was still a pupil.
The president recently made a screen cameo of his own, appearing in a documentary by Greens politician Daniel Cohn-Bendit that was screened at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
