British director Danny Boyle: The Queen lives in a normal home

BERLIN (dpa)- British director Danny Boyle, who met Queen Elizabeth II during the making of a film for the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, said the monarch is very smart and relatively normal.
The Queen had serving trays with tea and bits and pieces all over when he visited her in her rooms, Boyle told the German news magazine Spiegel. It was a normal home, where a normal person lived, he said.

The 62-year-old Boyle, who directed "Trainspotting," made the film featuring the now 93-year-old queen and the actor Daniel Craig, who appeared in the role of James Bond.
When she greeted him, Boyle said she told him she had just been to the dentist, and was therefore not in the best mood.
At the end of the meeting, the director said he understood why she had agreed to take part: Her closest employees clearly wanted nothing more fervently than to have a photo taken with Craig.
Unfortunately, Boyle added, no one wanted a picture with him.
