Clinton arrives in Oman for talks with Sultan Qaboos



MUSCAT- US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton arrived in Oman overnight Tuesday for talks with Sultan Qaboos, the fourth halt on a five-stop tour of the Arabian peninsula, an AFP reporter said.
Clinton flew here from Sanaa, the Yemeni capital where she made a suprise visit aimed at helping President Ali Abdullah Saleh tackle problems that allow Al-Qaeda to threaten his country and the West.



Clinton arrives in Oman for talks with Sultan Qaboos
Clinton was due to meet Qaboos here on Wednesday before flying to Doha, the last stop of her five-day tour of the region.
In the Qatari capital, she will participate in the seventh Forum for the Future, the highlight of a tour organized around Clinton's push for a better partnership between governments, business and civil society.
The forum was set up by the George W. Bush administration so that leaders from the Middle East and North Africa, the Group of Eight leading industrial countries, and delegates from business and civil society could meet to discuss reform.
In addition to Sanaa, Clinton has also visited the United Arab Emirates capital Abu Dhabi and its commercial hub Dubai. She returns to Washington on Thursday.
