Croatian president lends voice to Pixar cartoon

ZAGREB- Croatian president Ivo Josipovic has found a new way to get his message out -- his voice features in a Pixar short being shown with the record-breaking "Toy Story 3", local media said Wednesday.
Josipovic told the Vecernji List daily that he provides the voice for a radio broadcast in the six-minute cartoon "Day and Night", which arrives in Croatian theatres along with "Toy Story 3" on July 8.

The radio message is about how "the most beautiful things are those that are still unknown to us, so we should not be afraid of the unknown but rather investigate it," Josipovic said.
"It is a very nice and good message to our kids and it is completely in line with political messages that I am sending to adults as well," he added.
Josipovic's office confirmed to AFP that the president recorded his voice for the film some months ago and that he did not receive any fee.
"Toy Story 3" -- the third installment of the popular animated tale of Buzz Lightyear and other toys that come to life -- has earned 226.9 million dollars (185.5 million euros) in just two weeks of release.
