Doctors will not allow Navalny to be moved abroad, spokesperson says

Moscow (dpa) - Doctors at a Siberian hospital will not permit Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny, who is in a coma after a case of suspected poisoning, to be moved abroad for treatment, his spokesperson says.

Doctors said Navalny's condition would not allow for this, spokesperson Kira Yarmysh says on Twitter.
"Navalny's life now depends on the fact that the chief doctor of the intensive care unit refuses to take responsibility," Yarmysh tweets.
A special aircraft that is supposed to bring the 44-year-old from the Siberian city of Omsk to Berlin took off from Germany early Friday with a team of doctors on board, activist and film producer Jaka Bizilj told dpa.
The status of this operation is unclear.
