Dying British TV star to publish cancer fight diary

LONDON, (AFP) - Cancer-stricken British television star Jade Goody is to publish a diary of her dying days, her publishers said Tuesday.
The 27-year-old has allowed magazines and TV crews to cover her plight in return for money she says will secure the future of her two sons, and the book, "Forever in My Heart", is a "love letter" to the five- and four-year-old boys.

"This is Jade in her own words," said Belinda Budge, the managing director of HarperNon-Fiction.
"It is impossible not to be moved by her heart-warming voice which comes through loud and clear on every page of this last diary.
"This emotional book tells a fascinating story of our time, a story of a woman who rose to fame as a controversial reality television star and has now won admiration in the eyes of many for the fortitude with which she is facing terminal cancer."
A percentage of the profits will go towards a cancer charity.
The ex-dental nurse from south London found fame on the "Big Brother" reality television show in 2002, and has been in the public eye ever since.
On "Celebrity Big Brother" in 2007, she sparked a major row in Britain and India when she was accused of racist bullying of Bollywood actress and fellow contestant Shilpa Shetty.
But her fight with cancer has won the hearts of the British public.
Goody has now left hospital to spend her last days at home, and a spokeswoman said she had spent most of Tuesday sleeping, drifting in and out of consciousness.
