EU leaders: Not enough Brexit progress for November special summit

Brussels (dpa) - EU leaders agree that Brexit negotiations have not made enough progress to justify a special summit in November, an EU source says on condition of anonymity following talks in Brussels.

European Council President Donald Tusk had initially proposed a November summit to finalize a Brexit divorce deal if an agreement was in sight.
The leaders noted that "despite intensive negotiations, not enough progress has been achieved" and called on EU Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier to continue his efforts, the source says.
The 27 leaders stand ready to convene a summit "if and when ... decisive progress has been made."
