Fans sign remembrance book for British reality TV star

Fans of Jade Goody signed a book of remembrance opened Thursday, with several thanking the late British reality television star for fighting her battle against cervical cancer publicly.
The funeral of Goody, who died Sunday, will be held on April 4 at St John the Baptist church in Buckhurst Hill, northeast London, near where she died last weekend.

In the remembrance book opened at the church, several highlighted the fact that Goody's illness had raised awareness of the importance of women having smear tests.
"Jade, if it was not for you I would never have had my smear test and I have waited 15 years to have one," one message read.
Another said: "You are going to be responsible for saving the lives of many women in years to come."
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has led the tributes to the former dental nurse who struck a chord with the British public after appearing on the "Big Brother" television show in 2002.
Goody's career came close to ruin when she was accused of racist bullying towards Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty to racist bullying on a celebrity edition of "Big Brother" in 2007, sparking fury in India.
