"Brave," the Pixar studio's 3-D fairytale about a Scottish princess trying to rescue her mother from an evil witch, took $10.70 million in its fourth week, also slipping one place to lie fourth on the chart.
"Magic Mike," starring Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey as male strippers, held on to fifth place with $9.03 million in takings, and Oliver Stone's drama "Savages" was in sixth, down two places, with $8.74 million.
Tyler Perry's "Madea's Witness Protection" took seventh slot with $5.6 million in sales, while "Katy Perry: Part of Me" -- which gives a glimpse into the pop star's life on stage and off -- held eighth place with $3.74 million.
Ninth went to "Moonrise Kingdom," the latest from director Wes Anderson starring Bill Murray, Bruce Willis and Edward Norton. The indie coming-of-age film took in $3.67 million.
"Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted," rounded out the top 10, slipping from last week's seventh place on earnings of $3.5 million.
