Islamic State claims responsibility for Mar Mina attack in Egypt

Beirut - The Islamic State extremist organization claimed late Friday responsibility for the attack on a Coptic church in the Helwan neighbourhood of Cairo, the Amaq News Agency said.

The agency, which is affiliated with the group, said Islamic State fighters "carried out an attack on the Mar Mina church in Helwan south of Cairo."
Nine people were killed on Friday in two attacks on a Coptic church and a store in Cairo, the Interior Ministry said.
Seven people, including a policeman, were killed when a gunman on a motorcycle opened fire at a security force guarding the Mar Mina Church, the ministry added in a statement.
