Israeli airstrikes on Gaza injure four: Palestinians

GAZA CITY- Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip overnight Monday injured four Palestinians, Palestinian security officials and witnesses said.
The four casualties, including one woman, were slightly hurt by shell fragments when an Israeli aircraft fired a missile on a house in the east part of Gaza City.

The house, which was empty at the time, was completely destroyed and three other neighbouring houses were damaged.
The raid came after a rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel. It caused no casualties.
An Israeli military spokesman would neither confirm nor deny the report to AFP.
Late Monday, Israeli troops and Palestinian militants exchanged gunfire near the Kissufim crossing point into the Gaza Strip, Israel's Channel 10 television reported.
And in a separate incident an Israeli soldier was killed in a "friendly fire" incident near the border with Gaza as the military was tracking Palestinian suspects late on Monday, an army spokesman said.
