Lederhosen-clad Bill Clinton attends Oktoberfest with Hillary in tow

Munich - Hillary and Bill Clinton made a surprise appearance at Munich's Oktoberfest beer festival late Friday.

The former US president opted for traditional lederhosen breeches, while his wife - who ran unsuccessfully against Donald Trump in the 2016 US election - forwent a dirndl dress in favour of a red blazer.
The Clintons were accompanied by a large deployment of police officers when they entered the popular Kaefer beer tent for a "Mass," the German word describing a 1-litre glass of beer.
Gloria, Princess of Thurn and Taxis, a German socialite and a member of a house that formerly held sovereignty, was also in attendance.
The Kaefer tent, known as a popular spot for celebrities, stays open later than other locations at the festival, but the Oktoberfest website states "it's very difficult to get past the bouncer after 11 pm unless you have connections or are a well-known celebrity."
This year's festivities in Munich have been overshadowed by the death of a visitor who got into a fight and died after being struck in the head.
