Russian lawyer under Trump collusion investigation denies new charge

Moscow - A Russian lawyer under investigation into possible collusion between associates of US President Donald Trump during the run-up to the 2016 election denied on Wednesday a new US charge against her.

The lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, was charged this week with obstruction in a separate US financial crimes case involving a Russian businessman.
Veselnitskaya said in comments carried by Russia state media that the charge was an attempt to discredit her as she possesses proof of corruption in the US Congress.
Veselnitskaya, purported to have close ties with the Kremlin, met with Trump associates, including his son Donald Trump Jr, during the run-up to the election.
