Sigor Ros drummer quits after 'extremely serious' allegations

BERLIN (dpa)- Icelandic experimental-rock band Sigur Ros has accepted the resignation of its drummer following what it said are "extremely serious" allegations against him.
"In the wake of the extremely serious and personal allegations made against him in recent days we have today accepted the resignation of our bandmate Orri Pall Dyrason to allow him to deal with this privately," his fellow band mates, Jonsi and Georg Holm, wrote in a Facebook post.

Los Angeles-based artist Meagan Boyd accused Dyrason of rape in an Instagram post last week that has since been deleted, online music magazine Pitchfork reported.
Formed in 1994, Sigur Ros has become one of Iceland's biggest music exports, despite singing mainly in Icelandic.
