Syrian president attacks 'thief' Erdogan during troops visit

BEIRUT (dpa)- Syrian President Bashar al-Assad described Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as a "thief," the state-run news agency SANA reported on Tuesday.
”Erdogan is a thief ... he has robbed the factories, wheat and oil, and today he is robbing the land,” SANA quoted al-Assad as saying while visiting army troops for the first time in the countryside of Idlib.

“All areas in Syria have the same importance," he said in a reference to the Turkish incursion into north-east border areas of Syria which began earlier this month.
Syrian state media showed images of al-Assad standing at a military post among Syrian officers and soldiers in the area of Habeet in Idlib Province.
