Syrian state media: 44 civilians injured in Aleppo poison gas attack

Damascus - Forty-four civilians suffered from breathing difficulties after rebels allegedly carried out an attack using poison gas in Aleppo on Saturday, Syrian state media reported.

Syrian news agency SANA said "terrorist groups" fired shells containing toxic gas at two neighbourhoods in the government-held city in the country's north.
Police said earlier that 15 civilians suffering from breathing difficulties were taken to hospitals after an attack on the al-Khalidiye neighbourhood, SANA reported.
Aleppo has been relativity calm since December 2016, when Syrian government forces regained full control of the city from rebels following a Russian-backed campaign.
