Teenage Somali pirate to be tried as adult: US judge

NEW YORK - A teenage Somali pirate will be tried as an adult, a US federal judge decided Tuesday, rejecting as not credible a claim that the accused was only 15 years old.
Judge Andrew Peck ordered the trial of Abdi Wali Muse on piracy charges following closed door testimony on a claim by the pirate's father that his son was born November 20, 1993.

"Mr Muse's father's testimony was not credible," Peck said. "The court ruled that the defendant must be treated as an adult."
