Trump and first lady to travel to Pittsburgh

Washington - US President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump will travel to Pittsburgh on Tuesday, where 11 people were killed over the weekend by a shooter who attacked a Jewish synagogue, White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said.

"This atrocity was a chilling act of mass murder, act of hatred and above all an act of evil," said Sanders on Monday. "We have a duty to confront anti-Semitism in all its forms." She noted that the president's daughter and son-in-law - Ivanka and Jared Kushner - are Jewish.
She denied that Trump had any responsibility for the shooting or a recent spate of mail bombs sent to critics of the administration, amid renewed scrutiny of the president's rhetoric.
"The only person responsible for carrying out either of these heinous acts were the individuals who carried them out," she said.
