A list of winners of Africa's biggest film fest



The epic "Teza" about Ethiopia under the brutal rule of Mengistu Haile Mariam won Saturday the Golden Stallion of Yennenga, the top prize at the Pan African Film and Television Festival.
Here is a selection of the winners at the 21st edition of the FESPACO held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, this week.

Silver Stallion - "Nothing but the truth" John Kani (South Africa)
Bronze Stallion - "Mascarades" (Masquerades) Lyes Salem (Algeria)
RFI Audience prize - "Le Fauteuil" Missa Hebié (Burkina Faso)
Special jury prize - "Le Fauteuil" Missa Hebié (Burkina Faso)
Best screenplay - "L'Absence" (Absence) Mama Keita (Guinea)
Best actor - Rapulana Seiphmo in "Jerusalema" (South Africa)
Best actress - Sana Mousiane in "Les jardins de Samira" (Samira's garden) (Morocco)
Golden Foal for best short film - "Sekou" (They kept quiet) Benaissa Khaled (Algeria)
Best documentary - "Nos Lieux interdits" (Our forbidden places) Leila Kilani (Morocco)
Best television film - "Une femme pas comme les autres" (An unusual woman) Abdoulaye Dao (Burkina Faso)
