Bolshoi acid attack victim in London for ballet tour: report

MOSCOW- The artistic director of Moscow's Bolshoi ballet Sergei Filin, battling for his eyesight after an acid attack in January, has left his clinic in Germany to visit London for the company's tour, a report said Monday.
The Izvestia daily said on its website that Filin had arrived in London from his clinic in the German city of Aachen to support the company during its three week residency at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.

The paper said its information was confirmed by a leading dancer at the theatre, Ruslan Skvortsov. There was no immediate official confirmation of Filin's arrival in London.
If confirmed, the trip would be the first time Filin has left the clinic in Aachen since he arrived there in February in the wake of the attack. Filin's skin condition has improved in the last months but he is still battling for his sight.
A leading dancer at the theatre, Pavel Dmitrichenko, has been arrested in Moscow on suspicion of organising the attack. But he denies ever intending the use of acid.
