Book to aid Haiti quake victims goes on sale

WASHINGTON - A book featuring short stories contributed by authors from around the world with the profits going to victims of the Haiti earthquake went on sale on Wednesday.
The project, "100 Stories for Haiti," was the brainchild of Greg McQueen, a British author living in Denmark, who blogs about it at 100storiesforhaiti.org.

The book features 100 stories of 1,000 words or less from authors in 10 countries.
The print edition is being sold by Britain's Bridge House Publishing for 11.99 pounds (18 dollars) and a Brazilian publisher plans a print version.
The book is also available from ebook publisher Smashwords.com, where readers choose how much -- if anything -- they want to pay.
Proceeds go to Red Cross disaster relief efforts.
