Britain's Prince William interns with intelligence services

London (dpa) - Britain's Prince William, 36, recently completed a three-week internship at the MI5, MI6 and GCHQ intelligence services, Kensington Palace said on Twitter on Sunday.

Spending time inside the security and intelligence services and getting a sense of their work had been a "truly humbling experience" for him, Prince William told the BBC channel over the weekend.
The second in line to the British throne and the father of three said he had deep admiration for the working conditions: The employees of those services worked "in secret" and often could not even tell their families and friends about their work and its associated burdens.
"They are driven by an unrivalled patriotism and dedication to upholding the values of this country," the prince said on the palace's Twitter account.
"We all owe them deep gratitude for the difficult and dangerous work they do."
