Duffy, Kings of Leon crowned at Brit Awards

Kings of Leon and Duffy scooped gongs at the 2009 Brit Awards on Wednesday in a glitzy ceremony in London.
US rockers Kings of Leon won the best international group prize and the best international album award for "Only By the Night".

Welsh singer-songwriter Duffy, meanwhile, won the best British female solo artist award and the best British breakthrough act gong.
Indie band Elbow were named best British group, prompting a standing ovation from the crowd, while former The Jam front man Paul Weller was crowned best male solo artist.
Rapper Kanye West won the gong for best international male solo artist, while Katy Perry was the international female solo artist prize.
The ceremony in west London was to feature live performances by U2, Take That, Girls Aloud, Kings of Leon and the Pet Shop Boys, the last of which were set to be given an Outstanding Contribution to Music award.
British rock band Coldplay's hit album "Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends" is lined up against Duffy's "Rockferry" in the best British album category, while the pair will also go head to head in the best British single contest.
Coldplay entered the Brits having earned three Grammys earlier this month in Los Angeles.
The best single award is decided in a live vote on awards night, from nominees picked from the top 10 British singles by airplay and sales.
Coldplay, Adele, Alexandra Burke, Dizzee Rascal, Estelle, Duffy, Girls Aloud, Leona Lewis, Scouting for Girls and the finalists from television talent show "The X-Factor" are all up for the prize.
London singer Florence & The Machine, who burst on to the music scene last year and is still working on her first album, won the critic's choice award.
The Brits have often been a hub for controversy, having had to been broadcast on delay from 1989 to 2006 because of the antics of those attending the ceremony.
In 1996, Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker stormed the stage in protest at Michael Jackson's performance.
Two years later, Chumbawumba singer Danbert Nobacon dumped a bucket of ice water over then deputy prime minister John Prescott, while acid house oddballs The KLF fired machine gun blanks at the audience and dumped a dead sheep at the aftershow party following the 1992 awards.
