Italian tenor Bocelli hospitalized after 'simple fall from a horse'

ROME (dpa) - Italy's star tenor Andrea Bocelli was hospitalized Thursday after a horse riding accident, reassuring fans hours after the accident that he is "pretty fine."
"It has been just a simple fall from a horse. If there are no complications, I will probably leave the hospital [...] today," Bocelli wrote on Facebook.

The blind opera celebrity was thrown while riding at his mansion near Pisa after his horse "suddenly became agitated," an ambulance worker who rushed to the scene told the ANSA news agency.
Bocelli, 58, was taken to a Pisa hospital via helicopter. According to ANSA, emergency services recorded that he sustained serious, but not life-threatening, injuries to the head and pelvis.
Earlier this week, the tenor starred in a concert conducted by a robot in the Tuscan town.
