Mysterious Italian author Elena Ferrante to publish new book

ROME (dpa)- Elena Ferrante, a world-famous Italian author who hides her identity behind a pseudonym, is to publish a new novel in Italy on November 7, her publisher edizioni e/o said Monday.
There were no details about the title, but e/o released a short extract indicating that book is set in Naples, like Ferrante's previous works.

Ferrante's "Neapolitan Novels," also known as "My Brilliant Friend," is a four-book series that has become an international bestseller and was adapted into a TV series.
The author published her first book, "Troubling Love," in 1992. But she found worldwide success with the "Neapolitan Novels," the first of which came out in 2012.
In late 2016, Italian investigative journalist Claudio Gatti claimed to have unmasked Ferrante as Anita Raja, an Italian translator of German literature, but this was never confirmed.
