Three more on cruise ship in Japan test positive for coronavirus

Tokyo (dpa) – Japan’s health ministry said on Saturday that three more people on a cruise ship in Japan were infected with the new coronavirus from China.

The three – two Americans and one Chinese - have already been transferred to medical facilities and hospitalized, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare said.
This brought the total infections from the Diamond Princess quarantined at a pier in Yokohama, to 64, including one in critical condition, the ministry said.
Medical officials have quarantined the ship, which carries about 3,700 passengers and crew members from more than 50 countries and regions, since a passenger who disembarked in Hong Kong was confirmed to be infected a week ago.
The ministry said those aboard the ship might be able to disembark on February 19 at the earliest, Kyodo News repo
